Sheet Metal Punching Services
Expert Machine Punching for Durable Heavy-Duty Components and Assemblies
01

Industrial Sheet Metal Punching at Scale
Sintel provides high-speed automated sheet-metal punching for complex industrial applications. Using advanced turret punch presses and extensive in-house tooling, we deliver accurate results from heavy-duty equipment enclosures to intricate structural components.
Fast Lead Times: Parts are ready for assembly in days.
Quality Specs: Tight tolerances for seamless fit-up.
Scale: Handling everything from small brackets to large-scale heavy equipment panels.
Versatility: Able to perform multiple tasks on a single machine
02
Key Advantages for Heavy Industry
Effective High-Volume Runs: Capable of combining cutting, feature addition, and more on a single machine without requiring extra setup or handling
Built-in Forming: Create louvers, bridge lances, and embossments without extra operations.
Reduced Heat Distortion: Since punching is a mechanical process, there is no Heat-Affected Zone (HAZ), preserving the integrity of high-strength alloys.
Consistency: CNC automation ensures every part in a 1,000-unit run is identical.

Punch-Formed Features & Tooling
We utilize vast in-house and custom tooling to create functional features:
01
Louvers & Vents
Essential for thermal management in data centers and IT infrastructure.
02
Embossing & Dimples
Used for spacers, mounting points, or aesthetic branding.
03
Extrusions
Creating raised, threaded holes or standoffs for electrical contact points.
04
Ribs
Adding structural rigidity and stiffness without increasing part weight.
05
Countersinks
Preparing surfaces for flush-mounted hardware.
05

Design Guidelines for Success
To ensure the highest quality and lowest cost, we recommend following these DFM standards:
Hole Diameter: The minimum hole size should be at least 1.2 times the material thickness.
Feature Spacing: Maintain a minimum spacing of 1.5 times the material thickness between holes to prevent web distortion.
Form Height: Maximum formed feature height (like louvers) should typically not exceed 4x material thickness.
Uniformity: Keep all forms (up or down) in the same direction to minimize machine setups and potential quality issues.
06
Additional Services
Once your parts are punched, Sintel provides end-to-end finishing and assembly:
Automated Powder Coating: High-durability finishes for industrial and outdoor environments.
Robotic & Manual Welding: 4 robotic cells and 40+ manual stations for high-strength weldments.
Hardware Insertion: PEM® studs, standoffs, and nuts.
